The Race for Nolan’s Cup 04/24/06
No team since St. John's in 2002 have repeated as Nolan Cup champions and Canasia start the season with 6 teams gunning for their title. Perennial contenders United (May 14 v Cavaliers I) and St. John's (May 14th v Predators) will be first up to snatch the title back but will have to do so playing an expanded schedule which includes the Alberta Cricket Association's inaugural Super League. Predators (v Cavaliers I May 7th) have been sharpening their skills all winter and with some new additions will be poised to make a run at the title and move themselves into the elite of Calgary cricket. 2005 Division 1 champions CICA Blackhawks (May 13th v CanAsia) will be in for a steep test in their first Premier division campaign. They are joined by a Cavaliers I squad that survived that axe of relegation and a promoted Crown club that benefitted from league wide divisional realignment
The champion will be decided September 17th and will host the Alberta Cricket Association League Championship in Calgary on September 23rd
